One of the most famous grand masters of Shotokan was late Shihan Tesuhiko Asai. He was not just one of the most creative and agile Karakteka who ever lived. He had also an incredible punching power due to rigorous Makiwara training. As you can see in the following video he not just trained straight gyaku-tsukis but also mawashi tsukis and shuto uchi.
